 Why Loopy Lorna’s??? Well my mum was called Lorna and she was loopy! A bit more explanation? Loopy Lorna’s is named after and is a tribute to my wonderful and lovely mum, Lorna, who died in 1997 from lung cancer.
Mum loved tea and while growing up in Liverpool the phrases ‘tea the best drink of the day’ and ‘you can’t beat a nice cup of tea’ were heard on a daily if not hourly basis! My fondest childhood memories are of endless cups of tea and racks of home-baking waiting to be devoured the minute they were cool enough. Hot-baked scones straight from the oven, dripping with melting butter, fruit pies, cakes and sponges all filling our home with delightful and mouth watering aromas.
 Loopy Lorna’s Tea House aims to recreate a real taste of home through providing the very best in quality loose leaf teas and REAL home-baking baked on the premises, not only can you see the cakes being baked but you will be surrounded by the sweet scents of our busy baking ovens. The true test is in the tasting and there for you to enjoy!
Truly child-friendly, we offer free juice to kiddies under 12 and have a really cute baby-changing room with lots of bits and bobs to make life for busy mums and dads easier. A yummy kiddies under 12 menu with healthy snacks and meals can be supplemented with CAKE, LOTS OF CAKE! We also offer FREE of charge, stage 1,2 & 3 Hipp Organic baby food for our little customers who can't eat cake yet!
Our teas have been created especially for us by Master Tea blender, Alex Probyn (www.blendsforfriends.com). Alex is a world expert in tea and we have worked together to produce our unique range of exciting teas from around the world. We aim to offer our lovely customers a sensory journey through the world of tea by having a tea menu which includes familiar and yet top quality teas through to rare and unusual teas found in only the most select establishments.
Loopy's cakes are baked by real home-bakers who just happen to be fantastic chefs too! We use family and traditional recipes and the cakes are made with the love and care that only true cake fanatics can give. There’s no mass manufacturing or long-life storing at Loopy’s! Scrummy breakfasts, light meals, soups, sandwiches and of course traditional afternoon teas also feature on our selective menu.
